TRUSSVILLE — The city’s fastest growing subdivision received the go ahead to continue building new homes in Stockton from the Trussville city council on Tuesday.
The council approved a zoning change for 60 acres on the right side of the main entry road into the subdivision, making way for 130 new homes to be built.
Stockton currently has 145 homes occupied with about 45 lots remaining.
The zoning was changed from I-1 to RG, which creates lot setbacks more in line with garden home lots.
City clerk Lynn Porter said the new homes will be in keeping with the existing homes on the left side of the main road. The developer had requested the zoning change primarily to create the lot sizes needed for the newest phase.
