HOOVER — The Hewitt-Trussville Middle School tennis team recently competed in the Metro Tournament, held at Hoover High School, Berry Middle School and Bumpus Middle School.
Amanda Hayes, Barbara Snider and Anthony Blake guided the boys team to a third place overall finish and the girls team to a sixth place finish over the weekend.
For the boys team, all players advanced to at least the quarterfinal round. Jack Self, Cameron Hoffmaster and Harry Le each made it to the semifinals of the singles portion. The duo of Brody Littlefield and Austin Hill were also semifinalists in doubles action.
Much like the boys, all the girls that participated advanced to the quarterfinals. Madison Zeitvogel was the lone semifinalist for the Huskies.
Other girls on the tennis team include Anna Copham, Caraline Cox, Anna Virginia Fagan, Jenna Falkner, Julia Gallagher, Caroline Lambert, Livy Tippen and Grace Ward. The boys team also includes Prescott Bush, Connor Simon and Will Tortorice.
