TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce has launched a new youth leadership program for fourth- and fifth-graders in the community.
The program is called Kids L.E.A.D. The acronym stands for Leaders, Entrepreneurs, Ambassadors, Dreamers.
Kids L.E.A.D. seeks to empower and equip the young people of the community to become outstanding leaders in every area of life. Through a combination of leadership training sessions, field trips, fundraisers and volunteer opportunities in the community, children in Kids L.E.A.D. will be helped to become active members in the community and beyond.
The deadline to return an application is Friday, March 13.
For more information or an application, call the chamber office at 205-655-7535.
The Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce started the Trussville Teen Council in October 2014, a group that provides service in the community and at school. That group, consisting of Hewitt-Trussville High School students, was recently named the Charter Media Academic Team of the Week. There are 15 members in the group.
