ARGO — An online fundraiser has been established for the family of Darin Voudrie, who was killed in a train accident Friday.
The Darin Voudrie Memorial Fund was set up over the weekend on www.gofundme.com. The fund’s goal is to raise money for financial assistance for health insurance and long-term expenses for his family, which included a wife and four children. The post states that a “generous individual” donated $15,000 for his burial expenses.
On Monday at 8 a.m., 115 people had donated to raise $6,160.
Voudrie died Friday morning in an accident involving a Jefferson County Roads and Transportation Department dump truck and train on Brasher Road near Hagood Road in northern Jefferson County. He was 42 and from Argo.
