TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville City Council on Tuesday approved a low bidder to move the lighting from Jack Wood Stadium to the fields behind Hewitt-Trussville Middle School.
Stone & Sons Electrical was the low bidder at $61,285.
Titan Electric came in with a bid of $75,000 and Petty Line Construction bid $120,341.
The Trussville City Council at its earlier January meeting approved of going out to bid to move the lighting.
The Trussville City Board of Education has already approved an intergovernmental agreement with the city of Trussville for the use of the fields.
The agreement will allow Trussville Parks and Recreation to use the fields behind Hewitt-Trussville Middle School, which are former soccer and band fields. The city plans to use the fields for soccer, flag football and lacrosse.
The city will pay for maintenance and for the bills in exchange for the use of the fields.
The city council on Tuesday also approved Stone & Sons Electrical to move an electrical box with a meter from Jack Wood Stadium to the corner on East Mall for $1,950.
