TRUSSVILLE — The fast food chicken restaurant Guthrie’s could open a Trussville location.
Trussville City Clerk Lynn Porter said Guthrie’s was looking at the former car lot beside Taco Bell on North Chalkville Road in the fall, but said she hasn’t heard anything since. The building at the car lot was recently demolished.
Guthrie’s did not respond to a message seeking comment.
Guthrie’s has Alabama locations in Auburn, Birmingham, Cullman, Enterprise, Fairhope, Haleyville, Jasper, Moulton, Opelika, Orange Beach, Rainbow City, Russellville, Shorter and Tuscaloosa.
In other business news, Daylight Donuts will soon open a location in the former Clay Tax Services space near the Piggly Wiggly in Clay. A “Coming Soon!” banner hangs on the door. Representatives from Daylight Donuts did not respond to a message seeking comment.
An AutoZone will also take over the space where the Coco Bistro was on Old Springville Road in Clay.
The McDonald’s in Pinson is no longer operating 24/7. Due to lack of business, the hours of operation as of Jan. 1 are 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 5 a.m. to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
