TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville Rotary Daybreak Club has announced upcoming speakers for their weekly breakfast meetings.
Jim Coker, new head of the Jefferson County Emergency Management Agency, will speak to the group on Wednesday, Jan. 14. On Jan. 21, Jessica Estrada, the director of Community Outreach and Mission Integration at St. Vincent’s Health System, will be the featured speaker. Estrada will speak about Jeremiah’s Hope, a licensed post-secondary school run by St. Vincent’s Health System to train high school graduates or those with a GED with skills that can lead to entry level health care-related fields.
On March 4, the club will hear from Aaron Beam, one of the original founders of Health South, who has spent time in prison for the financial scandal and is now a fellow Rotarian who speaks to groups on the subject of ethics.
Hewitt-Trussville High School students Zackary Downing, Kaley Fulton, Taylor Herrin, Kylie Purdy and Cody Wilcox were selected by the club to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Award Leadership Conference at the Space Camp in Huntsville.
RYLA is a leadership training and conference for high school students.
