PINSON — Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies are investigating an overnight wreck on Bradford Road that claimed the life of a 51-year-old woman.
Deputies responded to a report of a single vehicle accident just after midnight on Saturday morning on Bradford Road near Hidden Trail. The vehicle had flipped onto its roof and the driver was trapped inside.
The victim, from McCalla, was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was in the vehicle.
According to a statement from Randy Christian, the investigation indicates that the car was traveling along Bradford Road when the driver lost control and left the roadway. The vehicle struck an embankment, causing it to flip and come to a rest on its roof.
The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of the family.
