CLAY — Tyler Duke, a senior shortstop on the Clay-Chalkville baseball team, has made his college decision.
Duke recently decided on Lawson State Community College, where he expects to continue his play as a shortstop and possibly contribute on the hill.
“If feels good to have this opportunity to play baseball in college,” Duke said. “It’s always been my dream to play baseball (at the next level).”
The righty also held scholarship offers from Wallace State Community College in Hanceville and Wallace State Community College in Selma.
Duke wants to make some improvements through his senior year playing for the Cougars. He believes pitching is an aspect of his game that could use some fine-tuning.
He also hopes to become more consistent and powerful at the plate.
“I want to work on my pitching skills mostly, and my hitting contact and power,” Duke said.
