TRUSSVILLE — The Hewitt-Trussville girls basketball team is set to host the New Year’s Shootout tournament starting on Saturday, Dec. 27 at Bryant Bank Arena.
No. 2 Clay-Chalkville is one in an eight-team field that will play all first round games on Saturday starting at 1:30 p.m. Pell City and Fort Payne are scheduled to start at 6 p.m. for the nightcap.

All teams will return to play on Monday. Semi-final action will start at 11:30 a.m. The second semi-final contest is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
The tournament championship game will be played on Tuesday night at 6.
The Lady Cougars will take the floor in Game 2 against Oxford, Miss., at 3 p.m. on Saturday. With a win, Clay-Chalkville would face the winner of Gadsden City-Huffman. A loss to Oxford, Miss., would pair it with the loser of that contest.
Head coach Tonya Hunter and the Lady Huskies play their first game on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. against Gardendale. The winner of that will see the winner of Pell City-Fort Payne at 11:30 a.m. Monday. The losers of those two games will play at 10 a.m.
