TRUSSVILLE — Last week at Paine Intermediate School in Trussville, two brothers got the surprise of the holiday season.
After seven months serving in Afghanistan, Brad Gallant arrived in Trussville and surprised his sons, fourth-grader Will Gallant and third-grader Macon Gallant.
It was the end of tour for Gallant, who was part of the 169th AVN, which has completed two tours in Afghanistan in the last four years.
Gallant has completed two tours with the 169th AVN and one tour with the 131st AVN. The 169th AVN is a chinook unit based out of the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport.
Gallant and his regiment were direct support for combat and resupplies while in the country.
