PINSON — The Pinson City Council on Thursday recognized two Pinson Valley Youth Association championship football teams.
The council officially recognized the 2014 Pinson Valley Youth Association 115-pound and 95-pound football teams. Both teams were winners of the Mid-State Youth Football Championship in their divisions.

Each player received a signed certificate from the council, and coaches Ken McMillan and Jeremey Galbreath received the original copies of the resolutions honoring the team.
“This is probably one of the best teams I’ve coached in 40 years,” McMillan said of the 95-pound team.
