TRUSSVILLE — TriStar of America, based out of Norcross, Ga., is the apparent low bidder for the Jack Wood Stadium demolition project.
TriStar’s base bid was $374,000.
The demolition project consists of Jack Wood Stadium; as well as a major portion of the existing New Deal-era school building; interior tear-out of interior finishes, ceiling, lighting, plumbing fixture and associated piping; removal and safe disposal of hazard waste in the form of asbestos and lead paint; track field house; and sidewalks of the existing school.
The project is likely to begin in January.
Other bidders were Virginia Wrecking Company (base bid of $467,899), CES ($484,000), Blalock Building Company ($520,000) and Milam and Company ($550,771).
The Trussville City Board of Education will hold its December meeting Friday, Dec. 19 at 9 a.m. at the Central Office. A public work session begins at 8 a.m.
