TRUSSVILLE — Members of Jennie June Croly Study Club have a busy holiday season and December is no exception.
Beginning around the first of December, members install Christmas decorations at the gazebo entrance to Parkway Drive in Trussville. New for this year, members have purchased a deer and new, larger Christmas trees to complement the lighted wreaths on the gazebo.

On the first Thursday in December members invited friends, family, and all residents and businesses of Trussville to a Christmas Coffee now held at the Trussville Civic Center. Originally started in a member’s home as an activity for senior citizens in the 1960s when seniors had few away-from-home activities, it has progressed and changed through the last 45 years to what it is today, a community Christmas party. Club members prepare special homemade Christmas treats, foods and drinks to share with all that choose to attend.
Jennie June Croly Study Club was formed in 1948 by a group of Trussville ladies. The idea was to give the ladies an opportunity to meet, socialize and support their community with civic-minded activities. Again this year, one of their projects is a donation to the Trussville Volunteer Fire Department’s Christmas for Kids program. All projects of the club are self-supported.
