TRUSSVILLE — A Hewitt-Trussville outfielder has made his college commitment.
Center fielder Quin Jackson verbally committed to Lawson State Community College on Tuesday.
Jackson played in all 41 games for a Hewitt-Trussville team that posted a 31-10 record in 2014 and reached the second round of the Class 6A playoffs.
Jackson batted .330 with 34 hits, 10 of which were doubles. He had 19 runs batted in, scored 30 runs and stole 17 bases. Jackson’s on-base percentage was .489.
Jackson makes the 18th Hewitt-Trussville baseball player to commit/sign to play baseball at the collegiate level since Jeff Mauldin became the head coach after the 2012 season.
Mauldin has led the Huskies to a 65-23 record in his two seasons. He’s 459-136 overall since becoming a varsity head coach in 2000.
