CLAY — Two Clay-Chalkville wide receivers have garnered big scholarship offers.
Junior T.J. Simmons and sophomore Nico Collins were both offered by Mississippi State on Wednesday.
Simmons also has offers from Cincinnati, South Alabama, Southern Mississippi and Western Kentucky. This is Collins’ first offer.
As a junior, Simmons caught 43 passes for 965 yards (22.4 yards per catch) and 17 touchdowns. He also rushed five times for 54 yards and two scores.
As a sophomore, Collins grabbed 39 passes for 805 yards (20.6 yards per catch) and 15 touchdowns.
In the Class 6A state championship win over Saraland, Simmons caught five passes for 165 yards and a touchdown. Collins caught five passes for 65 yards and a score.
