TRUSSVILLE — Trussville Police Department Capt. Jeff Bridges confirmed Tuesday that one suspect arrested in the Nov. 15 robbery of Radio Shack on Chalkville Mountain Road in Trussville is a Clay-Chalkville High School student.
Bridges said one 17-year-old juvenile student from Clay-Chalkville is charged with first-degree robbery. His bond is $40,000, Bridges said.
The juvenile’s name wasn’t released.
Bridges said that on the night of Saturday, Nov. 15, two black males entered Radio Shack, one wearing a white mask and brandishing a handgun. The other man was unmasked and unarmed.
An off-duty Birmingham police officer attempted to arrest the men, but both ran, Bridges said.
One was caught near Momma Goldberg’s and the other got away, Bridges said. The suspect who got away has not yet been located.
