TRUSSVILLE — About 200 runners participated in the Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce Maple Leaf Run on Oct. 25, presented by The Trak Shak.
A portion of the proceeds will go to the chamber’s scholarship fund and $500 also went to Turn Trussville Pink, a community project in support of breast cancer research.
Prizes were awarded in each age group as well as overall in the 5K. The top boys and girls received prizes in each of two age groups (9 and under, and 10-14) in the kids’ run.
In the kids’ run, first place in the girls’ division, age 10-14, went to Sidney White; and second place went to Lindsey Hall. In the 9 and under category, Fiona Calma finished first, Wilkes Nichols finished second and Lexi Lancaster finished third.
On the boys’ side, Bradley Coffman finished first in the 9 and under category, Jake Isbell finished second and Keller Usry finished third. Luke Coffman finished the race first overall.
In the 5K, overall female winners were Jamie Anderson, first; Sharon Prall, second; and Elizabeth Stephenson, third. The female master’s winner was Stacy Kadle.
Overall male winners were Joshua Dykes, first; Nate Williams, second; and Chad Carroll, third. The overall male master’s winner was David Hall.
