PINSON — The Jefferson County Board of Education last Thursday voted to rezone a property in Pinson for future use.
The board voted to rezone property at 6981 Highway 75 in Pinson from residential (R-1) to institutional. The land is owned by the board and will be school property.
Jefferson County Schools Director of New Construction Rafael McDaniel said in an email that the board just purchased the property and it will be for “future expansion of programs.”
McDaniel said the property contains an old house and two sheds, which are of no use to Jefferson County Schools.
No other details were immediately available.
