PINSON — Your last chance at fright is this weekend.
The Pinson Insanitarium Haunted Attraction’s last operations of the 2014 season are scheduled for Friday, Oct. 31 and Saturday, Nov. 1. The hours for both days are 7 p.m. to midnight.
Tickets to the haunted attraction, which is held at the Palmerdale Homesteads Community Center, are $10. The community center is located at 5320 Miles Spring Road in Pinson.
Photography and video recording are not permitted inside the haunted attraction. The attraction is handicap accessible, with a wheelchair bypass for the outdoor scene.
The Pinson Valley High School art department this year offered a class that allowed students to learn about and design special effects, such as makeup for scary monsters, prop making, the molding for mask making, and costume and set design. The class’ teacher, Chris Screws, is the scenic designer for the Insanitarium Haunted Attraction.
The Insanitarium has generated interest in making special effects part of the art class for years, and this year it got to happen.
