TRUSSVILLE — On Wednesday, Oct. 22, more than 5,000 people, representing more than 200 community partners across the cities of Trussville, Clay, and Springville, will unite together to raise awareness and money for breast cancer research.
The Tri-City Pink Out was organized by the Audie and Kathy White Cancer Research Foundation, an organization working in partnership with the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center.

A celebration and check presentation ceremony will take place at NorthPark Baptist Church in Trussville (5700 Deerfoot Parkway, Trussville, AL 35173) at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday. City councilmen, mayors and representatives from all three cities will come together as the Audie and Kathy White Cancer Research Foundation presents a check to the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center.
This is the seventh annual Turn Trussville Pink. Founder Joshua White created and coordinated Turn Hewitt Pink in 2006 and again in 2007 in honor of two of his teachers and also his mother, who were battling breast cancer. The campaign was so successful at the high school that White and his family expanded the project to include the entire city of Trussville. Last year, the event raised $20,000.
This year, the event has grown beyond the city of Trussville to include the cities of Springville and Clay, bringing 5,000 people together in the first-ever Tri-City Pink Out.
