TRUSSVILLE — Japan International Karate Academy has announced that Taylor Cosby, of Trussville, was recently promoted to the rank of first-degree black belt.

“Her perseverance and hard work over the past seven years has brought great credit upon herself and our organization,” said Japan International Karate Academy Chief Instructor Michele Perkins. “She has overcome great obstacles to achieve this goal that so few attain. We are extremely proud to add her to cadre of advanced students.”
