PINSON — It was not a pleasant homecoming for Pinson Valley on Friday.
McAdory came in to Willie Adams Stadium and blanked Pinson Valley 17-0 on Friday night. It’s the first time Pinson Valley has been shut out in a game since it lost 2-0 to Huffman in 2009.

Junior quarterback Errius Collins and senior running back Nick Gibson both found the bench in the second half.
Gibson grabbed the pine first after complaining about the McAdory defenders targeting his ankles. An argument erupted after Glover told his senior to suck it up and play.
“We just have to keep our composure and play,” Gibson said. “I did not quit on my team. I’m sorry that it feels like I quit on my team, but I didn’t. I just don’t want my team to feel like I quit on them.”
Collins wouldn’t leave his ball carrier alone for long. A few choice words between him and Glover put the signal caller right next to Gibson on the bench a little later.
Gibson had perhaps the worst game of his career. He tallied 45 yards on 21 carries. Things weren’t any prettier for Collins. The righty completed nine of his 20 attempts for 94 yards and an interception to Malik Moses.
That turnover followed his fumble that McAdory’s Khalid Leonard scooped up and went 65 yards with to make it 10-0 with 1:20 remaining in the third quarter.
“The big turnover really lifted our guys up and gave us a boost,” said Yellow Jackets head coach David Powell.
Kicker Eduardo Garcia-Enriquez gave the visitors a 3-0 advantage early with a 23-yard field goal on their opening drive.
Things didn’t get any better for the Indians. McAdory quarterback Jordan Jones connected with a wide-open Willie Langham for a 48-yard score on the first play of the final quarter.
Time will tell how Pinson Valley handles its struggles moving forward.
