CLAY — A memorial fund has apparently been set up for one of the two men killed in Tuesday’s murder-suicide at the UPS Customer Center in Birmingham.
A www.gofundme.com fundraiser titled “Doug Hutcheson Memorial Fund” was created Wednesday. Hutcheson is a 1999 Clay-Chalkville High School graduate who had worked at UPS since graduation.
At 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, the fundraising page had already garnered $3,695 from 72 people in three hours.
“Doug had a way of putting a smile on everyone’s face,” a post on the page reads.
The page states that funds raised will help with funeral expenses, daycare for Hutcheson’s twin boys and more.
