Sue McGuier, 90, passed away on December 10, 2022, in Birmingham.
Sue McGuier was born in Tarrant on August 7, 1932, to Isaac Wilson and Fannie Wilson. Sue married William Dallace McGuier on July 21, 1949, in Birmingham. The couple had two children, Charles McGuier (Kay) and Wanda Wood (Jimbo), both of Birmingham. Sue was best known for her handmade ornaments and butterfingers. She was a founding member of Springdale Baptist Church in Tarrant.
Sue is survived by her son and granddaughters, Kelly Gann, of Tarrant, Karmen Legar (Eric) of Nesquehoning, Pennsylvania, and Misty McGuier, Arkansas; a grandson, Charlie McGuier (Theresa) of North Carolina; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Sue was preceded in death by her husband, William McGuier; parents, Isaac Wilson and Fannie Wilson; her daughter; and granddaughters, Kerri Gann and Jamie Wood; a grandson, Eric Legar Jr.; a son-in-law, James “Jimbo” Wood.
The service for Sue McGuier will be held on Thursday, December 15, at 2:00 p.m. at Jefferson Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial’s adjoining gardens. Brother Tim Tidwell will preside over the service. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, please send donations to a charity of your choice in Sue McGuier’s name.
