CENTER POINT — A 13-year-old was wounded in a drive-by shooting in Center Point on Sunday, October 23, at approximately 3:40 a.m.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to investigate a report of shots fired in the 1600 block of 4th Place Northwest in Center Point.
“Witnesses report that shots were fired into a home from a vehicle which fled the scene,” Lieutenant Joni Money stated. “Deputies found that a 13-year-old child had been injured by gunfire. Sheriff’s investigators are talking to witnesses and checking all available video to identify the shooters.”
The child was transported to the hospital to be treated for what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.
