FAIRFIELD — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a motor vehicle on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at approximately 9:51 p.m.
According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, the female victim was a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle while crossing a public roadway in the 6500 block of Aaron Aronov Drive in Fairfield.
“According to witness reports, the female victim was walking in an unlit area of the roadway when she was struck by an oncoming vehicle,” Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Joni Money stated. “The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.”
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the circumstances surrounding the event, and the Coroner’s Office is attempting to positively identify the victim.
