TRUSSVILLE — The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified the 37-year-old woman killed in a crash on U.S. Highway 11 in Trussville on Sunday, August 28, at approximately 7:15 a.m.
According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, Julie Marie Durflinger, of Trafford, was the driver and lone occupant of a Volkswagen Jetta traveling north on Gadsden Highway when struck head-on by a Volkswagen Passat that crossed over into the decedent’s lane.
Durflinger was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another person involved in the wreck has been taken to UAB Hospital, according to Trussville Police Department Lieutenant Clint Riner. The extent of the second victim’s injuries is not clear.
The Trussville Police Department is investigating the cause and circumstances surrounding the wreck.
