SCOTTSBORO — Hewitt-Trussville Cross Country traveled to Scottsboro on Saturday, August 27, for the first event of the 2022 season. The boys and girls teams both placed 2nd in the event.
The HT boys finished second out of 14 teams. Tristan Teer was the top HT finisher as he placed 2nd overall in the Boys’ race with a time of 15:21.03. Wes Ellison also recorded a top-10 finish as he placed 7th with a time of 16:24.41. Oscar Spears was 17th overall with a time of 16:51.71. Garrett Yokeley was 21st overall and Rush Lachina was 22nd overall to round out the team scoring for the Huskies.
The HT girls finished second out of 13 teams. Avery Cahoon was the top HT finisher as she placed 6th overall with a time of 19:58.35. Kinley Harris finished 7th overall with a time of 20:01.11. Sophia Knox was the third Husky with a top-10 finish as she placed 9th overall with a time of 20:14.56. Kylie Sisk was 17th overall and Natalie Wiram was 19th overall to round out the team scoring for the Huskies.
The Huskies will be in action again on September 10 as they travel to the Chichasaw Trails Invitational.
