TRUSSVILLE — Mayor Buddy Choat announces the 2022 Trussville Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast, scheduled for August 5 at the Trussville Civic Center. The buffet will open at 6:30 a.m.; the program will begin at 7:00 a.m.
This second annual prayer event will be hosted by the Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce, along with presenting sponsor Best Insurance Group.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for people of all faiths to gather and pray for our city, state, and nation,” Choat said. “We are particularly blessed to be part of this community, and I feel it’s appropriate to acknowledge that by honoring God with our prayers and seeking His continued favor.”
Speaker for the event will be Mike Lutzenkirchen, executive director of the Lutzie 43 Foundation, established in memory of his son, Philip, who perished in 2014 in an accident involving drinking and distracted driving. Considered one of the most popular football players in Auburn University history, Philip left behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and dedication to his community.
Through the Lutzie 43 Foundation, Philip’s father hopes to inspire others to live out the positive character attributes that Philip displayed while learning from the circumstances of his death. “Live like Lutz, Love like Lutz, and Learn from Lutz” is the foundation’s motto.
Prior to starting the Lutzie 43 Foundation in 2014, Mike worked in sales, sales management, and marketing. He and his wife Mary reside in Marietta, Georgia.
The Trussville Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast is open to the public. Tickets are $15 and may be purchased online at Trussville Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast – Aug 5, 2022 (chambermaster.com) or by calling the Chamber office at (205) 655-7535. Reserved tables for eight are available for $175.
