BIRMINGHAM — The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified the woman killed early Monday morning during a two-vehicle accident on Main Street in Trussville.
Pamela Gonzales-Pena, 28, was the driver and lone occupant of a car traveling north that crossed the center line and struck a 18-wheeler in the southbound lanes, Deputy Coroner Bill Yates reported Tuesday morning.
“The cause and circumstances surrounding the wreck are being investigated by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office,” Yates reported.
The accident happened at 1:18 a.m. on the 400 Block of Main Street. Gonzales-Pena was pronounced dead at the scene 11 minutes later.
