BIRMINGHAM — The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified the two kids that were killed during the storm on Thursday, July 21, at approximately 5:28 p.m.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue responded to a private residence on reports of a residential structure collapse, with multiple persons entrapped due to a fallen tree during a thunderstorm.

According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, 3-month-old Jalaia Ford and 11-month-old Journee Jones were found entrapped in the debris after a tree fell on the residence located in the 600 block of 10th Avenue West in Birmingham.
Both children were transported by paramedics to Children’s Hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.
