BIRMINGHAM — The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified a 41-year-old man killed in a single-vehicle accident over the weekened.
Eric James Ratcliffe, 41, died around 1:45 a.m. on July 3 when the vehicle he was driving hit a tree along the 3600 block of Wenonah Road SW, Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates reported. Ratcliffe was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The decedent was the driver and lone occupant of a motor vehicle traveling west on Wenonah Road SW when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree,” Yates stated. “The cause and circumstances surrounding the wreck are being investigated by the Birmingham Police Department.”
