Sammy Nell Lowery Cashman, 90, transitioned from this life on June 18, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

She was married to Donald Francis Cashman for 73 years. She was also a devoted mother to her five daughters: Donna Thames (David), Renee Cashman, Michelle Gaughran (Jim), Theresa Grand, and Tonya Warren.
She is also survived by her seven grandchildren: Brian and Zachary Thames, Mackenzy and Graham (Molly) Gaughran, Jason, Addie, and Joseph Griffin. Two great-grandchildren, August Gaughran, and Victoria Crawford. She will be united again with her loving husband and loved ones. She was a devoted member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She was a mentor of the CYO for many years, worked in the food pantry and other organizations within the church. She enjoyed shopping and going out to restaurants with her family. She fought a long hard battle until the end.
Family and friends will gather at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church on Friday, June 24, at 10 a.m. for visitation. The Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m., with Father Bruce officiating. A committal service will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville. The Mass for Sammy will be live-streamed from Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church’s Facebook at www.Facebook.com/ollcbham.
