BIRMINGHAM — The Birmingham Police Department (BPD) was involved in a car chase that resulted in the vehicle crashing on Thursday, April 28, at approximately 11:29 a.m.
According to the BPD, a vehicle pursuit ensued with a vehicle stolen in a carjacking, and the pursuit initiated around 55th Street and Avenue Q with the stolen car occupied by four males.
“The pursuit ended on Montevallo Road after the driver wrecked the vehicle,” Sergeant Rodarius Mauldin said. “Three suspects were taken into custody, and one remains at large.”
The three suspects were treated for minor injuries sustained during the accident.
“There were no injuries to officers or community members,” Mauldin said. “There was minor damage to two police vehicles sustained from the suspects’ vehicle.”
