TRUSSVILLE — After several car break-ins, the Trussville Police Department (TPD) encourages the public to lock their vehicles.
“We have responded to several thefts from vehicle complaints over the past few weeks,” Lieutenant Clint Riner said. “Most of the thefts were from unlocked vehicles.”
Riner explained these were all crimes of opportunity that could have been easily prevented.
The TPD would like to remind residents and visitors to our city about the dangers of leaving firearms in unsecured vehicles and the increased risk when valuables or left visible inside unlocked cars.
“Locking your vehicle and hiding your valuables will not guarantee that you will not be a victim of a car break-in, but it does greatly reduce the chances,” Riner said.
