AUBURN — Former Hewitt-Trussville standout Sean Jackson walked on at Auburn and bided his time.
It’s paid off now as the running back was awarded a football scholarship here on Friday following practice.
Jackson, a 5-9, 230-lb standout for the Huskies, has been taking reps with the Tigers’ second team following the knee surgery of Jarquez Hunter, who is expected to be out for up to two months for recovery.
Jackson saw action in four games for Auburn in the 2021 campaign, when the Tigers went 6-7 overall and lost the Birmingham Bowl to Houston.
Jackson’s best game was a Week 2 showing against Alabama State, where he ran 10 times for 38 yards, including a 4-yard touchdown.
