HOMEWOOD — The Springville Tigers tied the Patriots with a run in the fifth, but Homewood scored twice in the bottom of the sixth inning and closed out a scoreless top of the seventh to win 3-1 here Thursday night, February 24, 2022.
Bryan Payne took the loss for Springville, allowing one hit and two runs and a walk in the sixth.
Caleb McCarty started for the Tigers, allowing four hits and one run over five innings, and Zach Brown and Jacob Neal each had a hit for Springville.
Springville center fielder Brady Gillespie scored after walking in the fifth when Asa Morrison hit a grounder to reach on an error from the Homewood third baseman.
