TRUSSVILLE — The latest news on which schools will be dismissed early due to incoming weather and where you can find your local tornado.
St. Clair County Schools is dismissing classes at 2 p.m. today in preparation for the weather.
Trussville City Schools will activate their tornado shelters if necessary. In Trussville, storm shelters will open in the event of a tornado warning being issued with Trussville in the polygon. The shelters are located at Magnolia Elementary, Paine Elementary, Cahaba Elementary, and the Trussville Fire and Rescue administrative building on Cherokee Drive.
All Jefferson County Schools’ after-school activities are canceled due to the threat of severe weather. Their previously scheduled E-Learning day on Thursday will continue as planned. Students should follow instructions from their school for completing assignments. This E-learning day has been on the calendar and was not scheduled as a result of the weather.
Student-athletes competing in AHSAA playoff and championship events will still do so unless the events are postponed by AHSAA.
