TRUSSVILLE — The Hewitt-Trussville girls basketball team is perfect halfway through 7A Area 6 play after defeating Gadsden City 64-37.
Coach Tonya Hunter’s team is now 19-3 overall and 3-0 in 7A Area 6 competition.
Four Huskies finished in double figures in the win over Gadsden City. Audre Benson led the way with 15 points. Benson also added seven rebounds and three assists. Jordan Hunter had 14 points and four assists. April Hooks made seven foul shots and also ended with 14 points. D’yona Jones had 13 points and nine rebounds.
The Huskies travel east to Atlanta today for a matchup with Lovejoy (Georgia). Hewitt-Trussville will be back at Bryant Bank Arena for Area play next Friday night when they host Vestavia. The Huskies beat the Rebels 49-47 in their first matchup in Vestavia.
