BIRMINGHAM — A 56-year-old man was shot and killed in Birmingham on Friday, January 14, at 3:26 a.m.
According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, the victim suffered from gunshot wound injuries during a reported assault in the 800 block of 7th Street Southwest in Birmingham.
The victim was transported to Princeton Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Jefferson County Coroner William Yates says the man has been positively identified, but the family has not yet been notified of the death.
“The death is being investigated as a homicide,” Yates said.
