BIRMINGHAM — A man was found dead in a Birmingham apartment on Sunday, December 12, at approximately 12:06 a.m.
According to the Birmingham Police Department (BPD), officers from West Precinct responded to the location on a call of a person shot at 956 Pike Road in Birmingham, Birmingham. Upon arrival, officers observed the victim in ta front room of the apartment slumped over in a chair suffering from a gunshot wound.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue responded to the scene and pronounced the victim dead.
The victim has not yet been identified while officials work to notify the next of kin.
“Details of what led to this incident are under investigation,” Sergeant Rodarius Mauldin said. “A suspect was taken into custody. This incident was isolated to this private residence. There were no other injuries reported.”
