TRUSSVILLE — Hewitt-Trussville’s cross country program hosts the 30th annual Husky Challenge on October 16, 2021.
Also that day is the Husky Challenge Elementary Mile. This is a free 1-mile run for any 3rd-6th grade TCS student. Parents can register by completing this form:Registration. Check in time is 10:15 a.m., and race time is 10:30 a.m.
The Huskies most recently competed at the Veterans Park Elite 8. The HT Boys finished in 2nd place as a team. Mitchell Phillips placed 2nd individually with a time of 16:55.62. Tristan Teer also recorded a top-five finish as he placed 5th individually. Teer finished the race in 17:30.85. Thomas Himes had a top-10 finish as he placed 10th with a time of 17:53.87. Rush Lachina finished in 18:26.94 and William Gallant finished in 18:36.76 to round out the scoring for the Huskies.
The HT Girls placed 4th as a team. Kylee Sisk was the top HT finisher as she ran in a time of 21:02.10. Avery Cahoon (22:15.63) and Sophia Knox (22:30.35) recorded top-20 individual finishes. Hannah O’Kelley finished in 23:02.61 and Sophie Bryant finished in 23:53.87 to round out the team scoring.
