PINSON — Former Pinson Valley High School football legend and current Auburn University quarterback Bo Nix will be returning to his hometown this month to host his first quarterback camp, “QB Elevate by Nix.”
“I’m proud to say that he decided, along with his family … to bring that camp to Pinson, to Bo’s home school,” Pinson Mayor Joe Cochran said during the July 15 Pinson City Council meeting. “They could have had it at Hoover or any number of places that would’ve perhaps been easier for people to get to, but I’m glad they’re bringing it to Pinson.
The camp will be held at PVHS on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, for rising 3rd-12th grade quarterbacks. The cost is $80 per participant and students can be signed up for the camp at qbelevatebynix.com. Spots are limited and registration must be paid in advance.
“If you have a rising 3rd grade to 12th grade quarterback that would like to get some excellent teaching and skills, drills and things that will help them for a lifetime, it would be a good opportunity for them to come to that camp,” Cochran said. “Also, meet Auburn’s quarterback, which is always pretty cool, and get to shake his hand, get your picture made with him; I’m sure he’ll do that, too.”
