BIRMINGHAM — A Birmingham man has been killed after flood water swept him away last Saturday night.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as 31-year-old Timothy Lewis Bragg, who according to authorities was lost in the water on Highway 78 near Dugan Avenue in Birmingham. His body was discovered approximately 200 yards from the highway on Monday morning.
The tragedy occurred as tropical depression Claudette slowly moved across Alabama on Saturday. Bragg’s death is believed to be the 14th Alabama death related to the storm.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death.
