From The Tribune staff reports
The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) responded to a hole in the bridge on Interstate 59 northbound over Edwards Lake Road, on Saturday, June 5, 2021.
The hole was repaired and according to several reports, ALDOT said there does not appear to be any structural damage to the bridge. There is no word as to what caused the hole.
Part of the interstate was closed while repairs were made but it has since reopened and traffic was flowing smoothly Saturday night.
