TRUSSVILLE — On Sunday afternoon, May 30, the City of Trussville, led by the new Veterans’ Committee, will present a tribute to the city’s military veterans and their families. The ceremony will take place at Civitan Park, at 3:00 p.m.
The event will include the unveiling of a bronze bust of one of Trussville’s own fallen warriors, Jason Stegall, husband of Ashley Cox Stegall. Funds for the bust were raised by the Trussville Rotary Club, Keller Williams-Trussville, and Vets4Vets.
Those instrumental in planning and presenting the tribute are Mayor Buddy Choat, the Trussville City Council, and Mark Davis of Vet4Vets, as well as Veterans’ Committee members Chad Carroll, president; Linda Burns, secretary; Jaime Anderson, Trussville City Council liaison; John Griscom and Jim Wolfe.
Civitan Park is located on Parkway Drive, across the street from Holy Cross Episcopal Church.
Other Veterans’ Committee events will follow during the year and will be announced at a later date.
