UPDATE: Suspect arrested after police chase from Ashville to Birmingham

TRUSSVILLE — Multiple agencies are in the middle of a police chase after a car was stolen in Ashville, on Tuesday, May 25, 2021.
St. Clair dispatch said a black 2014 Nissan Frontier 4×2 was stolen from Martin’s Texaco on U.S. Hwy 231, in Ashville, around 4:36 p.m. Deputies caught up with the vehicle and a chase ensued.
The chase continued into Jefferson County on Interstate 59. At one point, Trussville Police joined the chase but the driver continued into Birmingham and Trussville Police backed out of the chase. Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency are now involved.
The tag number of the vehicle is 6795A5.
