BIRMINGHAM — The National Weather Service in Birmingham warns there could be severe storms Sunday, May 9, 2021.
Damaging winds of up to 60 mph and quarter-size hail are possible in central Alabama.
Jefferson and St. Clair Counties are in the marginal risk area. The most likely time for storms in these areas will be between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m.
The line of storms is expected to impact mainly northwestern parts of central Alabama late in the afternoon and into the evening hours. Isolated damaging wind gusts and hail will be possibly generally along and north of the Interstate 20 corridor.
