TRUSSVILLE — The Hewitt-Trussville softball team claimed another mercy-rule win on Thursday night.
Freshman Sarah Hindman pitched a two-hit shutout with seven strikeouts to claim a 10-0 victory over James Clemens in five innings. The double-digit win represents the Huskies’ 12th of the year.
Hewitt-Trussville (34-2-1, 4-1) scattered 13 hits, including 10 singles on the visitors. Crystal Maze led the charge with a 3-for-3 outing that included a double, a triple and three RBIs. Kenleigh Cahalan went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs. Anyce Harvey and Riley Tyree also provided multi-hit games for the top-ranked Huskies.
Hewitt will be in tournament play this weekend in Hoover.

The home loss drops Leeds to 9-16 on the year, including an Area 10 mark of 5-1.
